This is 51! Climbing to New Heights
Aug 18, 2021by Natalie Fisk, BN Team
Karen Leveque reached new heights this past June... literally!
Karen lives in Thunder Bay, Ontario,
home to many incredible hiking trails.
The Chimney Trail at Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, or as Karen calls it, “the beast” has always eluded her.
“If someone had asked me 10 years ago if I wanted to climb this,
it probably would’ve been a hard NO! Because I’ve heard stories about that climb.”
But, in June 2021, at 51 years of age, Karen did it!
A gruelling 20 km and 35,000 steps later, she can now claim that she too, has also hiked that beast of a trail.
“What a gratifying feeling to know that I dug so deep and was way out of my comfort zone and got it done!”
The BUFFnation Community
Getting stronger in mind and body are areas Karen has focused on with BUFFnation. That’s what has helped her reach her goals, even ones that seemed unattainable.
Since joining BUFFnation, Karen has noticed a big change in her energy level and mindset.
She sets small attainable goals each week related to meal prep, water intake and workouts.
Using BUFFnation’s nutrition resources and learning to meal prep has made her life a lot easier. “It’s super convenient to pull out a ready-to-eat meal when it’s time to eat.”
Drinking enough water is tough, but Karen has found that adding lemon juice,
sliced berries or cucumber and mint help keep her on track and hydrated.
Karen hasn’t let distance get in the way of her fitness goals.
Although she lives in Northern Ontario,
Karen is still able to be part of this incredible community.
“I absolutely love the online platform!
It’s so convenient to just go downstairs to my workout space
and not have to leave my home, especially in the winter months!”
Karen stays connected to the BUFFnation community through our VIP Facebook group.
She is always there to motivate, and encourage other members. She shares her wins of hikes or walks with her dog, photos of her meal prep or sweaty after workout selfies.
Karen's Words of Wisdom
Ready to get started on your wellness journey?
Karen shares this advice:
“Don’t ever underestimate yourself! You CAN do this! It’s all about your mindset and setting small, attainable goals. Don’t be hard on yourself if you have 1, 2, 3 or 4 missteps on your journey, we all do! Just get back up, dust yourself off and keep going!”
Thank you for being an amazing part of our community, Karen!
We can’t wait to see what heights you will reach next!
